As students, we all have to a certain extent a limited budget and as more and more people start to get into gaming prices for hardware will rise extremely. As is the situation now, most solid and powerful gaming PCs that around 4–5 years ago would cost you 1–2 thousand pounds now cost around 5 thousand! Yes, 5 thousand. So this article is about helping students who love gaming or want to get into it but have a limited budget. Here are my top 5 recommendations for budget gaming setups:

Xbox Series S
The Xbox Series S is a next-gen compact console that performs very well with an extremely good price of 250 pounds. This console has the same specs as the PS5 and the other next-gen Xbox the Series X, but the only downside would be that it offers half the memory capacity of the other consoles which offer 1TB. Besides the limited 400GB memory, the console offers a stable 120fps for every game with resolution of 1080p and also offers 2k gaming resolution with 60fps. Overall, one of the best budget gaming hardware, but lacks the memory capacity and is not the best for streaming if someone is into that.

PS5
The PS5 is indeed a powerful console that offers the same specs as the Xbox Series S with 1TB of memory and is quite solid for live streaming as well. But, because of the extreme demand for the console the retail price of 500 pounds has almost doubled, so it makes it almost not worth it unless you find a good deal which is entirely possible.

Now that’s about it regarding consoles, let’s get into the more serious and powerful hardware which are gaming PCs.

HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop
This is a solid cheap compact gaming PC that will not break the bank and will handle most of the games that you want to play. You will require a monitor obviously but it comes with a keyboard and a mouse. The interior hardware provides decent performance for 1080p gaming with a Ryzen 5 processor and a 8bg GTX 2060 graphics card and it comes with the price of around 600 pounds depending on your needs and customizations. Overall, the Pavilion offers everything you are looking for in a compact gaming desktop and the configurations in combination with the price make it a very good and money-worthy choice.

Alarco Gaming PC
If you are on a limited budget or you are new to gaming this PC is a good choice to get started. Even though it does not have the performance of the HP Pavilion , it has enough power for basic gaming like minecraft, fortnite or csgo and it will run at 1080p with around 30–40 fps. Plus, for the price of the Alarco it is aesthetically pleasing with LED lighting on the interior and multiple rgb fans to cool down the system. Overall, if you are looking for the most budget option or you are new to gaming this PC is a solid choice as the pricing of 400 pounds is very acceptable.

HP Omen 25L
Lastly, we have a PC that is quite powerful but does not cost a boatload of money. It is one the best budget PCs in the market regarding performance. It has a slick-looking appearance, it is powerful and is future-proof as it leaves space for expansions and upgrades. Regarding gaming power, the PC provides an intel i5 or i7 processor , a NVIDIA RTX 3060 graphics card and 16GB of RAM. So overall, if you are looking for a gaming desktop that provides good performance right away the HP Omen is a great choice as it comes with a reasonable price of around 1000 pounds ( depending on your needs and customizations of course). Lastly, this desktop is upgradeable, so in the future you could swap components to better match your needs.
